Around 90% of what we make is for hospitality, healthcare and commercial fit-outs. We work directly with restaurants, hotels and pubs, and alongside interior designers, architects and fit-out contractors. We deliver a complete service from design and manufacture through to upholstery, delivery and installation.
Everything is built by hand in our Norwich workshop to Crib 5 standard, using contract fabrics or your own specified material. Domestic and homeowner work is a growing part of the business and is treated with the same craft standards.

Shane Ison started in upholstery straight from school, learning the craft hands-on across bespoke domestic sofas and, later, large-scale commercial contracts. After seeing how corners were cut in the industry, he founded Red Kite Furniture to do it properly.
Today the Norwich workshop turns wood, foam and fabric into pieces that hold up under the pressure of a full dining room, with a small, skilled team that treats every project the same way: your business is our business.

Do you manufacture to Crib 5 standard?+
Yes, all commercial and contract work is manufactured to Crib 5. For domestic work we are match and cigarette test compliant.
Do you cover the whole UK?+
Yes. We manufacture in Norfolk and deliver, install and reupholster on-site across the UK.
Can you use our own specified fabric?+
Yes, we work with Customer's Own Material (COM/COL) and contract fabric houses. We cannot take responsibility for fire-retardancy of customer-supplied fabrics.
How much does a quote cost?+
Quotes are free. A site survey, when required, is chargeable but its cost is included within the final quote.
What is the lead time?+
Lead times depend on the scope of your project; we'll confirm timings when we discuss your enquiry.
Is your work guaranteed?+
Yes. All our furniture is guaranteed, with terms specific to your project confirmed at the time of order.
